For the rear light of a vintage motorcycle, a low cost PETG plastic was used.
With welded-in thread inserts and a V2A 3D-bent part,
the individual parts could be assembled to a complete unit.
A subsequent painting rounds off the overall result.
3D printing possibilities for PEEK are particularly interesting.
This material is very expensive as a raw material.
With conventional machining processes
such as turning and milling, a lot of waste is produced depending on the contour.
Simple and complex components become unnecessarily expensive as a result.
